To coincide with Heritage Open Days on the 7th and 14th of September, there is a new exhibition in the St James’ display area about the origins of the names of some of Wallasey’s historic streets. Because our street names are so familiar, we probably never give a second thought as to why they are so-called. So come have a look – and perhaps be surprised by – the pictures and explanations which have been kindly supplied by the Heritage Centre.
